Is your mind helping or hindering you?

Experts estimate that the average human has between 50k to 70k thoughts each day which is between 2,100 to 3,300 thoughts per hour, and 95%-99% are subconscious i.e. 95% -99% of all results / outcomes are based on our current way of thinking - WOW - so it's probably easy to see how we could get tripped up by some less than helpful thoughts

Everything we do and say is first a thought. Everything that has ever been created, started with a thought - someone thought or imagined about flying and we now have planes, someone thought about easy access to France and we first had boats and now have a tunnel, for those with children, you thought about having children then you put into motion activities to bring that thought into being - everything we do and say starts with a thought, everything that has been created in this world, first started with a thought
So what do I mean by subconscious thinking…..we brush our teeth each day without really having to think about it, our subconscious mind does it all for us which leads to a positive outcome of clean teeth and fresh breath (if only it were so easy for dieting, exercise or recovery 😎).
What about when we start looking for a new car, and suddenly it is like that is the only car on the road, and because we have probably been searching online, Google also will keep helpfully giving us adverts for this car – so much so that it can be easy to go off that car as we think everyone is driving one….

SO…...how does this work - we have a thought, which depending on how we are feeling, will lead to us taking action, or no action, which then creates a result or outcome. ALL thoughts end up with a result or outcome - either we do something or we don’t do something, but it still creates an outcome or a result
Tony Robbins - “If we keep doing what we’ve always done, we will keep getting what we always got” - so we have to change our thought patterns AND the outcome we want to achieve and take different actions to get different results
Henry Ford said “Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right” what does this mean in practise: If we say “I can’t lift this heavy item” - we have effectively told our mind to stop thinking about this and just accept the situation - outcome = we won’t lift it. If however we say “I can or will lift this heavy item” we are asking our mind to help come up with a plan to lift it, i.e. perhaps asking someone for help, or finding an easier way to lift or hoist it up, outcome = we lift the item
One other nuance is that every single cell in our bodies is connected to our heart and because our heart responds to, and is controlled by our brain, every single cell is our bodies is affected by our thoughts, so these thoughts don't just affect how we act, they affect how we react and how our body responds - this by the way is huge – I remember first learning this when running on a treadmill and I had to stop the treadmill, get out my phone and write it down
What this means is that if we know the outcome we are expecting or wanting, it will drive our subconscious to help us get there - this is awesome news, IF we are clear, certain and confident of the outcome we are wanting to achieve
So…...what outcome are you wanting to achieve today, and how badly do you want it, one of the high performance habits (we talk about these in the REIMAGINE section of the 28 day RESET challenge) is creating necessity - we need to be crystal clear about our desired outcome to get our subconscious brain to help us get there e.g. we need to ”start with the end in mind” as Steven Covey says.

Frequently asked questions - each week I try to cover any FAQ's that have come up during the week:
- The app is saying my email and password is incorrect but I know I typed it in correctly - we have noticed a glitch on the app where it somestimes does this, if this happens to you, please delete the app and reinstall it and it will work, it also reinstalls all your past data around tracking, gratitude etc so you won't lose anything
- Do I have to complete the challenge in 28 days - you can take as long as you like to complete the challenge so long as you have an active subscription - NB, for those very early adopters on the challenge who had access almost for free, the guest pass lasts for 3 months, so if you have not started, now might be the time to start or restart.
